Having started work for a multi disciplinary practice in Kings Lynn Adam was able to work on many different projects of varying sizes from £500,000 to £20m. Being a design and build practice, technical awareness was essential in detailing car showrooms, supermarkets, schools and many other non-domestic projects.

Since joining SMG Architects in 2007 Adam has worked on many of the larger residential projects including listed properties, church extensions and commercial projects working with the National Trust, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and  many Baptist Churches.

Skills include conceptual and detailed architectural designs for complex sites or historic buildings, design team project management and administration of the contract during the construction process. Adam is involved in the day to day running of the Sheringham office taking a general overview on all projects also having a close relationship with our Norwich office.

Detailed Experience

Sheringham Baptist Church

Responsible for conceptual design of a new church in Sheringham to meet with a complex brief for a church building welcome to all comers. Public consultation of scheme and Planning Application along with technical design and on site technical assistance.

New Nissan Car showroom, Bodham

Having developed the initial concept design I was responsible for the obtaining of Planning approval, Building Regulations approval and on site supervision

Mr Simms Sweet Shop, Kings Lynn

Conversion of a former photographic shop in Kings Lynn into a period styled shop front to complement the Mr Simms brand. We received the Mayor’s Award for Design in the Environment (Commercial Refurbishment and Alteration) for our work on this project.

Development of new Nursery, Norwich Research Park.

Taking on an existing disused building I was responsible for delivering a concept design through detailed drawings and technical specifications ensuring childcare regulations were met, if not exceeded, throughout the process.

New Log cabin, Pentney

Working with the client, who was an experienced forester, to develop a concept design in the traditional methods of log construction. I was then able to secure planning and building regulations working with the local building control department to help ensure of a log internal finish.
