Jerry began his career as a trainee technician in 1969 and qualified as an Architectural Technologist in 1973. He subsequently became a full member of CIAT. Most of Jerry’s early career was spent in the Architectural Departments of Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council. Joining David Stead as an Associate in 1988, Jerry has progressed through the company and is now Principal Associate at SMG. Jerry enjoys the challenge of producing freehand drawings for Barn Conversions and Listed Building applications as well as the technical aspect of the profession.

Conversion of existing farm building to provide domestic accommodation. Traditional materials were used and existing materials from the original building were re-purposed in the new design. A timber extension was utilised to provide additional accommodation, reflecting the traditional style. The traditional oak truss roof was retained and the thatched roof was replaced.
