Garden Room, Norfolk Mead

The Norfolk Mead Hotel owners were keen to design and create a new function room facility suitable for up to 200 guests. The hotel itself is a Grade II listed building and therefore the function room was designed to complement the surrounding area and be sympathetic to the existing building. The extension was situated within the corner of the walled garden, creating a pavilion style structure. The single storey flat roof sits below the height of the garden wall and over sails the glazed walls providing solar shading. The garden wall is utilised fully with the brickwork creating the rear elevation facade. The glazed walls provide a striking outlook onto the garden and hotel building. A new service block incorporating a kitchen, office and staff facilities is located on the other side of the garden wall and is finished with vertical larch cladding.
