This was a commission from a local builder developer to design a large two and a half storey house to suit his young family. Positioned on a mature and elevated site, the house benefits from spectacular views of the North Norfolk coastline.
The property, which surpasses current building standards, sits prominently above the road to capture the sun and the west light, maximising the solar gain. The client also requested a contemporary open plan layout, for flexible living which looked out to a secluded rear garden.
A welcoming two-storey entrance hall with a wide expanse of roof glazing floods the circulation space with natural light.
The exterior untreated vertical cedar cladding will weather to a grey and sit discreetly in the landscape beside the mature Scots Pines. This timber is complemented by an off white through colour render and grey aluminium glazing.
