North Norfolk District Council required a new building to replace the existing tourist information centre and to provide additional public conveniences. Curved, rendered walls, sloping roofs and fully glazed façades make for a light and welcoming building. Flexible public spaces provide the opportunity to learn about the local area and access current communication technologies. Energy saving systems were included in the design with solar collectors supplying hot water and a ground source heat pump providing underfloor heating.
'It is a new hub of information for tourists and locals alike with a striking roofline of conical turrets and canopies on the Cromer skyline.'
